Goldilocks 2024 Ride Guide

When/Where is packet pickup

Packet pickup will be on Wednesday, September 11th at Mad Dog Cycles in Orem, Utah from 3-7 p.m. At MDC you can bring in your bike for a pre-ride check to make sure your bike is good to go! Our preferred pickup time and date will be on Friday, September 13 from 5-8 p.m., and our vendor village will be open! Vendor Village pickup will be at MicroFocus, 1800 Novell Place, where the start/finish will be. Please pick up your packet at one of these times. If you absolutely cannot pick up Wednesday or Friday, come at least an hour before your start time to pick up the morning before the ride.

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

Yes. Please have them bring a copy of your driver’s license (a digital copy is fine).

Where is the start/finish line?

This year’s ride will start/finish at the MicroFocus building in South Provo. Address: 1800 Novell Place, Provo, UT 84606.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your start time (or if you need to check in, one hour before your start time). This will give you time to park, use the restroom, fill your water bottles and be ready to begin. Goldilocks’ porridge will also be ‘just right’ starting at 6:30 a.m. if you need to fuel before you ride.

What time does my ride start?

100 Miles: 7:00 a.m.

80 Miles: 7:20 a.m.

60 Miles: 7:40 a.m.

40 Miles: 8:00 a.m.

20 Miles: 8:20 a.m.

Can I begin earlier than my start time?

Yes, but if you leave prior to your start time, we cannot guarantee all rest stops on your route will be open by the time you arrive, or if Papa Bears will be available to help at your location.

Where do I park?

There is plenty of parking on the south side of MicroFocus – the start/finish will be around to the east.

What is the ditch bag process?

You never know if it will be too hot or too cold the morning of the event. Follow the example of Goldilocks and make sure you’re dressed ‘just right’ by taking advantage of our ditch bags. Dress warm, and if necessary, you can shed your warm clothes and leave them at the start line or at any of the rest stops. We’ll make sure they make it back to the finish line. Just make sure you don’t forget to pick it back up! Write your name and cell number on the bag and we’ll get it back to you!

Rest stops and aid stations?

Goldilocks riders can expect to see a rest stop with restrooms every 10-28 miles along the cycling course. Please see the route map for details.

What if I need to change my ride distance?

No matter what distance you registered for, you may change your distance up until August 31, 2024. Sign into Active.com and make this change yourself before August 31. Changing your distance any later may affect your lunch (changing between 20, 40, 60 is fine, and changing between 80 or 100 is fine, but between the two will affect your lunch).

SAG (Support & Gear)

Part of a fully-supported ride means if you have a problem on the course, or can’t continue, we’ll provide support to help you solve it or bring you to the finish line. We’ll have Papa Bears on bikes to assist with minor problems and marked roving vehicles with basic equipment to fix a more serious problem or provide transportation if necessary.

What if I need to quit while I’m on the course?

Please text or call 801-three seven two-8108, our Papa Bear Dispatch. You may need to leave a message, but your call will be returned quickly. They will be happy to come and rescue you!

When/Where is my lunch?

Lunch for 20-60 Milers will be at the start/finish line at the conclusion of your ride. Lunch for 80-100 milers will be at Rowley’s Red Barn in Santaquin, Utah at mile 47.

Will there be restrooms?

The start/finish line and all the rest stops have clean portable restrooms or access to permanent restrooms. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

Where can I access the routes?

You can visit our website at www.goldilocks.events/provo/course to view the course for each distance. You can also download our routes on Strava.

What time does the course close?

Finish line, rest stops, & support will wrap up at 5 p.m.

Can I exchange my shirt for a different size?

Not until everyone has picked up their shirt. We will be happy to exchange sizes after you’re done riding. We will find one that is ‘just right’ (based on availability). If you registered after July 1, you will not get a t-shirt at check in, but you can pick one up after riding if there are extras.

I ordered my kit before March 1st, when will I get it?

It will be mailed to you in May.

I didn’t order a kit, but still want one.

Kits are ONLY pre-order. Please order before March 1st to guarantee getting what you’d like.

Finish line/Spectators

No one wants to finish a race with no fanfare! Goldilocks knows how to throw a party and her event wouldn’t be the same without family and friends to cheer on participants as they cross the finish line. Make sure you pick up your Goldilocks finisher necklace as you cross the line.

I’m a Mama or Papa Bear. What are the details?

You will receive your t-shirt, tubes and CO2 at packet pickup. You need to bring your own pump or CO2 injector to inflate tires (or we have a few for loan).  You will start and finish just like the rest of the participants. All we ask is that you stop and help everyone in need that you come across as you’re riding. Please return your unused tubes and CO2 after finishing the ride. For more serious problems (injuries, broken chains, etc), contact the Papa Bear dispatch at 801-three seven two-8108.

Can my family follow me on the course in their car? Can anyone ride with me that’s not registered?

The answer to both questions is no. It is not safe for extra support vehicles to be on the route. If they’d like to support all riders, we can make them volunteers. Only registered riders are allowed on the course with our riders, as they are the only ones covered by our liability insurance. Sign up to be a support rider if you’d like to give support to someone on the course.

Where can I access event photos?

Goldilocks thinks that event photos should be FREE! We will have photographers at the finish line and multiple locations along the course. However, because we’re such a large event, we don’t have the capability to make sure we get every rider. Don’t expect to be in any of our pictures, but DO be sure to take lots of pictures yourself. 🙂 Also, make sure your handlebar bib is visible so we know who is in each photo! Photos will be made available within two weeks after the event. You will receive an email when they are posted.
